Getting to know Kaylie Hatos

Growing up in a multigenerational household in Phoenix, Arizona, I often turned to art as a way to express myself and process strong emotions. As a young adult, I spent years facilitating craft workshops for both adults and children and discovered that many of my students also found creating art to be a therapeutic experience. This realization ultimately inspired me to become a creative arts therapist.

What should a new client know about working with you?

As an art therapist, I support adolescents and adults navigating depression, anxiety, self-esteem, and ADHD. My approach blends art therapy techniques with other therapeutic practices such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Compassion-Focused Therapy, and mindfulness to create a tailored approach for each of my clients.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

As a queer neurodivergent woman, I am committed to providing a safe, inclusive space where clients feel free to be their authentic selves and explore their emotions. In my work with clients, I bring warmth, thoughtfulness, and empathy into each session. This creates a nurturing space where we can collaboratively work toward healing, resilience, and self-acceptance. Clients often describe gaining a clearer understanding of how past experiences shape their current feelings and behaviors, leaving sessions with practical coping skills to manage and process life's more challenging moments.
