Getting to know KC Montoya
Hey there! I'm KC, a Licensed Independent Social Worker with a Master of Social Work from The Ohio State University. For a decade, I've been working in the people-helping industry, providing support to those experiencing homelessness, severe mental health concerns, trauma, and substance use. Seven years of my time helping people have been in administration.
What gets me out of bed in the morning is my passion for helping people. That's why I've dedicated my career to providing therapy to those in need and offering leadership training and consultation to social workers. I'm proud to bring a unique skill set to the table, which includes experience with dual diagnosis mental health and substance use, trauma-informed care, bipolar, and schizophrenia.
As a therapist, I take a collaborative approach to counseling. I work hard to create a safe and supportive environment for my clients and work with them to establish goals and track progress. I use a variety of evidence-based therapy modalities and techniques to meet my clients' unique needs. These techniques include CBT, DBT, and Solution Focused Therapy. I'm committed to helping them achieve greater well-being and happiness in their lives.
When I'm not working, I love spending time with my family and indulging in some of my favorite hobbies, like hiking, fishing, and jiu-jitsu. My personal values and beliefs are an extension of my professional values, which include a deep commitment to social justice and a belief in the power of resilience and growth.
