As a counselor with over five years of experience and a personal background rooted in the LGBTQ+ community, I bring both professional expertise and lived understanding to my work. I specialize in supporting LGBTQ+ individuals as they navigate identity, relationships, mental health, and life transitions. My approach is inclusive, affirming, and deeply empathetic—grounded in the belief that healing happens in spaces where people feel seen, respected, and safe to be themselves. In addition to my work with the LGBTQ+ community, I support clients facing challenges with anxiety and depression. I offer a collaborative, client-centered space that helps individuals build insight, develop coping strategies, and reconnect with their strengths. I know that facing mental health challenges can be overwhelming, and I aim to walk beside my clients—not in front of them—with both support and sometimes a touch of humor to keep the work human and approachable. Whether you're navigating a specific issue or seeking deeper self-understanding, I’m committed to providing a space that is warm, affirming, and empowering.

What should a new client know about working with you?

Starting therapy can feel like a big step, and I want you to know that you don’t have to show up as anything other than yourself. I create a space where you can be real—whether you're feeling overwhelmed, uncertain, curious, or even skeptical about the process. As someone with lived experience in the LGBTQ+ community, I understand how important it is to feel affirmed and understood. You won’t need to explain or justify your identity here—this is a space where your experience is valid and respected from the start. My style is supportive, down-to-earth, and collaborative. I balance deep, meaningful work with moments of levity—because sometimes a little humor can go a long way in breaking tension and helping us connect. I'm not here to “fix” you; I'm here to work with you, at your pace, toward the goals that matter to you. I also work with many clients dealing with anxiety and depression, helping them build tools for emotional regulation, self-compassion, and resilience. We’ll explore both the roots and the day-to-day impacts of what you’re feeling, so you can gain clarity and start to feel more in control. Above all, I believe that therapy should be a safe and empowering space. You deserve that—and I’d be honored to be part of your journey.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Therapy is a personal journey, and I aim to make the process feel safe, structured, and collaborative from the start. Initial Sessions (Getting to Know You): In our first few sessions, I focus on building a strong foundation. We’ll talk about what brings you in, explore your goals, and start understanding your story. This is also your chance to get a feel for how I work and ask any questions you have about the process. It’s important to me that therapy feels like a good fit for you. Goal-Setting and Exploration: Once we’ve established a sense of trust and direction, we’ll begin identifying patterns, challenges, and strengths. Whether you’re dealing with anxiety, depression, identity questions, or relationship concerns, we’ll tailor our work to your unique needs. For LGBTQ+ clients, that might mean exploring coming out, navigating relationships, or working through internalized messages in a supportive and affirming space. Ongoing Work (Progress & Support): As therapy continues, we’ll check in regularly about what’s working, what’s shifting, and where you’d like to go next. I incorporate tools and techniques as needed—from cognitive and mindfulness strategies to narrative and relational approaches—always centered around your pace and preferences. My Style: I’m engaged, compassionate, and direct when needed—but never pushy. You’ll find I’m supportive and grounded, with a good sense of humor when the moment calls for it. I believe therapy can be both deep and human—and I’ll always meet you where you are.
