My approach I believe that you have the skills, knowledge, and strength to overcome challenges that impact your life; my role is to show you how to bring your strengths out to cope and succeed. The journey can be fun, terrifying, rewarding, and intense. My goal is to communicate in a manner you can understand. I work in behaviors, patterns, and the familiar--not labels, podcasts, or social media. Sometimes this can be direct or very concrete. Seeking out assistance when something feels off can be scary and intimidating, so I am here to ensure this process is rewarding when the work is done. My focus I want to help you identify and bring out whatever has been stirring around in your brain, those nerves that won't leave your stomach, or that stress response when that alarm goes off Monday AM. My communication style I focus on behaviors: What does "angry" or "happy" look like? I am direct and concrete. I am not direct or concrete in a "I keep it real" way, trying to "toughen you up." The more specific we get, the easier it is to identify what we need to work on/look at. My journey to mental healthcare I enjoy human performance and seeing people recognize how great they are. My goals for you I use a SMART Goal format to track Progress: Specific. Measurable.Action Oriented.Realistic. Time Specific. When we track behaviors over time, we're able to see what's impacting things. My first session with you The first session will consist of a combination of history gathering/filling in some gaps, as well as what's been going on. We will start with the immediate work, back a little, and fill in between. With more detail comes more specifics, which lead to successful outcomes.
