Getting to know Kelly Fitzgerald

I am a licensed Counselor in IL and MO, focusing on individual therapy with adults. I hold an MEd in Counseling from the University of Missouri-St. Louis. If you're feeling stuck in some aspect of your life, we would explore that together, setting goals and finding solutions to move forward. Many of my clients have had anxiety issues; some are working through grief or a significant life change; codependency (being affected by another person's addiction) is another key issue in my practice.

What should a new client know about working with you?

We would set goals together and re-visit these to determine how we are meeting your needs. Sometimes our plans may need a change to achieve the greatest results. Open and honest communication is a foundation of my practice. My clients learn about themselves, their vision for a life well-lived, and how to use effective tools to achieve this.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

I use a cognitive approach (talk therapy) to begin, moving into other techniques as necessary, such as energy medicine, journaling, and relaxation techniques. I am a proponent of the 12-Steps for personal growth and spiritual exploration. I provide support for the whole person and whatever aspect is standing in the way of experiencing your best life.
