Kelly Freeman, LPC

Psychotherapist
TX
Hello, my name is Kelly, and I've been practicing in the state of Texas for the last five years and have lived here for the last seven. I'm originally from Georgia, and like so many residents of Texas, I am a transplant just trying to survive the scorching heat. I completed all of my education and pre-licensure work in Georgia, earning a Master's in Community Counseling from Columbus State University. While there, I worked for a mobile mental health crisis team, the first of its kind in the nation. I gained valuable experience working with populations on the fringe of society, such as homeless individuals, those in jail, people in the ER needing mental health evaluations, and others. I brought all of that experience with me to Texas, where I specialize in Anxiety, Depression, and Bipolar Disorder and have experience with addiction and recovery from substances and alcohol. I have held several community-based therapist positions in a wide variety of roles. I have been a therapist in an addiction treatment facility for adolescents and worked as a treatment director for a residential treatment facility for teenage girls. I've also worked briefly in the foster care system in Texas. Since going full-time into private practice, I have chosen to focus mainly on adults. I also have experience with neurodivergent individuals with ADHD as well as high-functioning Autism, helping them learn to function within the limitations both of those diagnoses provide on a daily basis, but I do not currently specialize in those diagnoses.

What should a new client know about working with you?

Sometimes having a truly impartial person to listen to what you are going through may be just what you need to come up with the solution to your problem you initially thought was not solvable. That is the foundation of what I offer in therapy; that and a very collaborative relationship where two people are working for your best interests to get you the results you want. Positive thoughts based on reality have the power to turn around most situations but I don't want to invalidate your experience or your emotions by using those types of statements. I hesitate to use the words "all" and "every" because you are a unique person and off of that statement your difficulties are also unique. No one solution fits all will work for you. And that's all right.

More information on payments and coverage

Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.
