Getting to know Kelly Gadbury

Hi there, I'm Kelly Gadbury, LPC. I have been providing therapeutic services for 15 years. I earned my Master's in Professional Counseling from Liberty University and my Bachelor's degree from the University of Houston. I primarily utilize cognitive behavioral therapy and Adlerian modalities in therapy. I enjoy working with adults struggling with various life issues. My approach I provide a varied approach to therapy and meet people where they are. I utilize cognitive behavioral therapy, Adlerian modalities, Emotional Freedom Technique, Vagus nerve stimulation, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, and other modalities. My focus I began my career working with people who had bipolar disorder and schizophrenia. I often see clients struggling with depression, grief, anxiety, ADHD, life changes, postpartum challenges, spiritual struggles, and family issues. My communication style I consider myself a laid-back therapist and enjoy creating a safe environment for clients to be open and honest. I love to provide education on diagnoses, symptoms, and coping skills. My journey to mental healthcare I've wanted to be a therapist since I was 9 years old. It's been a lifelong dream I was able to achieve. My first experience was in a community mental health facility, where I learned about major mental illness and skills training. This time developed me into a therapist who ?teaches? clients how to help themselves and relate to people personally. My goals for you I use your current mental, physical, professional, or educational issues to create weekly goals. I aim for achievable goals we can track together. My first session with you We will cover procedural topics like privacy and cancellation policies. I will ask about your life and current symptoms. It will be a broad overview of issues to discuss later. I will ask about previous therapy experiences and their pros and cons. If time allows, we can review coping strategies and pick goals for the week.
