Kelly Garcia, LMSW

Kelly Garcia, LMSW

Psychotherapist
116 E Howard Ave, Decatur, GA
Personally, I endorse the saying “Every star shines a little differently.” I practice as an experiential therapist and draw from modalities involving expressive arts, play, mindfulness, and nature. I work to develop age-appropriate activities and interventions that fit each client's unique set of skills, strengths, and interests. I work with children, adolescents, and teens to set realistic goals, navigate stressful transitions, and develop meaningful coping skills. I hold a Master's in Social Work from the University of Georgia and a Bachelor's degree from Georgia College & State University. Professionally, I endorse the proverb “it takes a village to raise a child” and believe it is important for young clients to have the family system involved in some way. For all my clients, I help create a strong connection between identifying feelings and expressing them in a healthy and safe manner. I am passionate about providing an inclusive space for my clients to explore themselves and grow confidence and compassion for themselves and others. When I am not working, I enjoy hanging out in nature, painting, and spending time with family. Otherwise, I am most likely playing fetch with my dog, Frito, or on a search for a new indoor plant to add to my collection. No matter how your child shines, I would be honored to work with them and your family. Reach out today for a consultation!
