Psychotherapist
WA
Hello, my name is Kelly Kaderlik. I know firsthand how challenging it can be to find a counselor and the feelings that come with starting therapy. The fact that you are looking at this page now shows that you are ready and willing to make a change in your life. Therapy is hard work, and the progress can feel slow sometimes, but I will point out your strengths and accomplishments on our journey together. I would like to provide you with some more information about who I am and my professional experience so you can make an informed decision about working together. You can always call me too if you would like to know more. I have personally experienced anxiety, depression, and trauma in my lifetime, which fostered my deep appreciation for becoming a therapist to help others who are struggling with the challenges of being human. I have found the healing power of creating artwork combined with therapy. As a trained art therapist, I would love to guide you in the process of art making to promote your own personal healing. You do not need ANY art experience to gain insight and awareness into your experience through creative methods. I understand that this can feel intimidating, but I would like to offer the opportunity for you to practice creative healing experiences in a safe space. I graduated from Antioch University Seattle with a Master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, specializing in Art Therapy. During my time there, I worked in a community mental health setting for one year as part of my internship experience. Post-graduation, I facilitated group therapy sessions in an inpatient setting for patients experiencing acute psychosis and mood disorders. I have experience working with teens, adults, and older adults, as well as leading virtual art therapy groups. I like to practice from a strength-based and person-centered approach. I show up as my authentic self in session, and I would encourage you to do the same.
