Getting to know Kelly Ledford

Kelly received her MS in 2005 from Springfield College in MA. Her studies included counseling and art therapy. Kelly has sessions with adolescents, and adults in individual and group sessions and also provides coaching. Kelly has had experience working in a variety of settings and with various ages over the years. Over the past years she has added to her training Tapping, Polyvagal therapy, and somatic techniques. She enjoys exploring life with others and finding ways to allow others to thrive.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I enjoy working outside the box and I really listen to individuals. We are a team exploring what is going on in life and from somatic techniques to various expressive techniques we can address letting go some of the intensity of aspects of life that are bothersome or holding someone back. Individuals will gain the skills in sessions and will make the choice to apply them to their life to gain what they are seeking.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Our clinical services begin with completing a comprehensive diagnostic assessment to identify the symptoms and issues that prompted the individual to seek counseling. The goals of treatment are then developed with the individual and become the focus of the counseling from that point forward. The length of the treatment is determined by the nature of the diagnosis and degree of interference the symptoms and/or issues are having in the individual's daily life. Each clinician establishes a clinical partnership, while recognizing the individual's right for self-determination. Engagement and the building of a therapeutic relationship are of central importance in the delivery of mental health services.
