Psychotherapist
4900 Park Rd, Charlotte, NC
I'm Kelly O'Donnell, and I help adults just like you-those who have it within them to reconnect with their most confident selves but need the support to get there. I guide my clients to find fulfillment, passion, and strength by equipping them with the tools to step into their full power and wholehearted selves. Many of today's solutions for self-esteem and anxiety are surface level, leaving so many feeling like they're still faking it even after their symptoms have eased. You're looking for more than that, so together, we'll work to uproot what's been holding you back. First, we examine the debilitating messages contributing to your internal turmoil. Then, we replace these with healthier, more adaptive messages and skills tailored to you. Through our work, you'll be equipped to lean into life with gentle courage that prioritizes your happiness and goals above all else. I am dedicated to helping people discover their power. My training includes a Master's in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and a Certificate in Addiction Counseling from the University of North Carolina, Charlotte, as well as a Bachelor's degree from the State University of New York, Fredonia. This background gives me the expertise you need and deserve when releasing self-doubt and worry. But at the end of the day, you want to know you're working with someone who truly “gets” what it means to struggle with insecurities and worries, right? I get it because I've lived through it too-personally and alongside loved ones. I know that sometimes it's hard to trust-ourselves, others, or the world around us! So when we work together, you won't just get a trained therapist. You'll get someone who truly understands what you're going through.

What should a new client know about working with you?

Note: -I do not accept insurance and I cannot prescribe medication. - I ask that all paperwork be completed at time of appointment request, within 8 hours at latest. As a heterosexual, cis, educated, whitewashed, recovering perfectionist, christian, enneagram 2w1, ENFJ woman from Buffalo, New York, I love what I do! I was raised in a family of law enforcement and believe black and brown, LGBTQIA and jewish lives are worthy of holding with respect and love. As a therapist, I embrace an approach that encompasses mind, body and emotions though CBT, DBT and mindfulness based work. If you're familiar with Brene Brown's work, it's likely we'll speak the same language! I believe the quality of the therapeutic relationship is essential for therapeutic outcomes, and finding the right fit for your therapist matters. I lean into a collaborative therapeutic style, that at times, leverages our therapeutic relationship as a way of trying on new skills and new ways of thinking. I'd love to hear from you and any questions you have for me!
