Psychotherapist
GA
Hi, I’m Kelly Phillips, LAPC. Maybe you’ve been holding everything together for everyone else while quietly feeling overwhelmed, anxious, disconnected, or simply tired of feeling stuck. Maybe your relationships feel harder than they used to, or you’re struggling to understand your emotions and what you need. Whatever brought you here, you don’t have to figure it all out alone. I provide compassionate telehealth therapy throughout Georgia for adolescents, adults, and couples. I strive to create a warm, welcoming, and judgment-free space where you can take a breath, be yourself, and talk openly about what’s really going on. I proudly support the LGBTQIA+ community and value creating a space where you feel respected, accepted, and understood. I support clients navigating anxiety, depression, stress, trauma, emotional regulation, relationship concerns, communication difficulties, life transitions, and personal growth. For couples, I help partners move beyond recurring arguments and disconnection to develop healthier communication, rebuild trust and connection, and better understand each other. My approach is collaborative and personalized because therapy should fit you—not the other way around. I draw from CBT, DBT, Solution-Focused, and Person-Centered Therapy, with training in the Gottman Method and Emotion-Focused Therapy. You don’t need to wait until things get worse to ask for support. Whether you’re feeling overwhelmed, stuck, disconnected, or ready to better understand yourself and your relationships, therapy can be a place to begin. We’ll start where you are and work together toward where you want to be. If something in you is saying, “I’m ready for things to feel different,” I’d love to help you take that first step.

What should a new client know about working with you?

My therapy style is warm, collaborative, and conversational. I want you to feel comfortable being yourself while also feeling supported and gently challenged when it can help you move forward. Therapy is a partnership—we’ll work together to understand what you’re experiencing, identify what you want to change, and develop practical tools that fit your life. During your first visit, we’ll spend time getting to know you, understanding what brings you to therapy, discussing your goals, and learning more about what you hope to get from counseling. You’ll have space to share as much or as little as you feel comfortable with. We’ll also talk about what you can expect from therapy and begin identifying areas we can work on together. As we continue, sessions will be tailored to your needs and goals. Depending on what you’re working through, sessions may include reflection, conversation, coping strategies, skill-building, exploring patterns, or working through relationship and communication concerns. You won’t be expected to have everything figured out before coming to therapy. My goal is for you to leave sessions feeling heard, supported, and with a clearer understanding of yourself and practical steps you can use between sessions. Therapy is not about having all the answers—it’s about having a safe space to explore, grow, and create meaningful change.
