Dr. Kelly White, PhD

Psychotherapist
PA
I believe that therapy is most effective when it is personalized, collaborative, and grounded in evidence-based care. Every individual, couple, and family has a unique story, and I tailor treatment to meet your specific needs, goals, strengths, and life experiences. My approach is trauma-informed, compassionate, and focused on helping clients achieve meaningful, lasting change rather than simply managing symptoms. I strive to create a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental environment where you feel comfortable exploring life's challenges and developing the confidence to move forward. I recognize that beginning therapy can feel overwhelming, and I work to make the process approachable, respectful, and empowering. I believe healing begins with a strong therapeutic relationship built on trust, authenticity, and collaboration. Together, we will identify patterns that may be keeping you stuck and build on your existing strengths. My clinical work incorporates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), EMDR, Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART), Brainspotting, Trauma-Focused CBT (TF-CBT), Motivational Interviewing, Somatic Experiencing, Somatic Therapy, Play Therapy, TraumaPlay, and SandPlay Therapy. For couples and families, I integrate relationship-focused interventions, including the Gottman Method, to strengthen communication, resolve conflict, and foster healthier, more connected relationships. I work with children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, relationship difficulties, life transitions, emotional dysregulation, and stress related to work, family, or other significant life events. I also provide psychological testing and evaluations, forensic evaluations, forensic therapy, court-ordered treatment, and services for individuals involved with the legal system, including parole and probation.

What should a new client know about working with you?

Many clients appreciate that I tailor treatment to their individual needs rather than taking a one-size-fits-all approach. Whether we are processing trauma, managing anxiety or depression, strengthening relationships, or working through life transitions, I integrate evidence-based therapeutic approaches that best fit each person's goals and experiences. I value authenticity and believe that genuine connection is one of the most important components of successful therapy. Clients often tell me they appreciate that I balance empathy with accountability. While I provide validation and support, I also encourage growth by helping clients recognize patterns, challenge unhelpful beliefs, and develop healthier ways of coping. I celebrate progress, no matter how small, and recognize that healing is rarely a straight path.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Whether you are seeking support to heal from past experiences, navigate current challenges, or build a healthier future, my goal is to help you feel understood, supported, and empowered. Therapy is not about changing who you are—it is about helping you better understand yourself, strengthen your resilience, and develop the skills needed to live a more balanced, fulfilling, and meaningful life.
