What should a new client know about working with you?

I believe we often feel the most stuck when we haven’t done the deeper work of unearthing core experiences that have shaped the beliefs we hold about ourselves, others, and the world around us. I also believe that symptoms only improve when we intervene somatically, teaching our bodies what our brain so badly wants us to know! This means we won’t just talk about your problems, but work on ways to create felt safety in order to make meaningful change. As a neuro-affirming therapist, you’re never going to hear that you’re “too self-aware for therapy”. I do my best to take into account the challenges that come with various neurotypes (with specific clinical experience with ADHD and Autism), including sensory accommodations, diverse ways of processing and approaching problems, and choosing a pace for therapeutic work that feels sustainable for you.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

I like to start by understanding the changes you’re hoping to see and the ways you’d like to grow. From there, we’ll explore what your stuck points are and spend time uncovering experiences and relationships that have shaped the beliefs behind those “stuck” feelings. As we continue working together, we’ll build a well-rounded tool box of coping mechanisms and joyful habits that allow you to live more authentically as you continue towards goals that feel most aligned with your purpose.
