Hi, I’m Kelsey, a Licensed Associate Counselor who specializes in working with adults experiencing OCD, anxiety, and related concerns. I have specialized training in Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) and use evidence-based approaches including ERP, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). I know that reaching out for therapy can feel overwhelming—especially when anxiety or OCD has convinced you that you need to have everything figured out before asking for help. My goal is to create a space where you feel understood, supported, and never judged for the thoughts, fears, or patterns you’re struggling with. In our work together, we’ll focus on understanding what is keeping you stuck and developing practical skills to help you move toward the life you want. For clients with OCD, this may include gradually facing feared thoughts, situations, or sensations through ERP while learning to step away from compulsions and reassurance-seeking. I believe therapy should be collaborative and tailored to you. You don’t have to navigate OCD or anxiety alone, and you don’t have to wait until things become unbearable to reach out. I work with adults experiencing OCD, anxiety, panic, depression, relationship concerns, and life transitions. If you’re ready to take that first step, I’d be happy to work with you.

What should a new client know about working with you?

Starting therapy can feel intimidating, but you don’t need to know exactly what to say or where to begin. I take a collaborative, compassionate approach and will meet you where you are without judgment. For clients working through OCD and anxiety, therapy may involve gently challenging patterns that keep anxiety going. When appropriate, we may use Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) to help you build tolerance for uncertainty and discomfort while reducing compulsions, avoidance, and reassurance-seeking. We’ll move at a pace that is challenging but manageable, and you’ll always understand the “why” behind the work. I also believe therapy should feel like a partnership. I’ll offer honest feedback, practical tools, and encouragement while respecting your expertise about your own life. My goal isn’t simply to help you feel less anxious in the moment—it’s to help you build the confidence and flexibility to live your life more fully.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Our first few sessions are about getting to know you, understanding what brought you to therapy, and identifying the patterns that may be keeping you stuck. We’ll work together to develop goals that are meaningful to you and create a treatment plan that fits your needs. As we move forward, sessions will be collaborative and active. Depending on your goals, we may use approaches such as Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). For OCD and anxiety, this can include identifying avoidance and compulsive behaviors, building tolerance for uncertainty, and gradually practicing new ways of responding to uncomfortable thoughts and feelings. I’ll regularly check in on your progress and adjust our approach as needed. Therapy isn’t about having all the answers—it’s about creating a space where we can understand what’s happening, practice new skills, and work toward helping you feel more confident and engaged in your life.
