Hi there, I'm Kendra Metcalf, a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) currently licensed in Arkansas. I work with clients locally at my private practice and statewide via telehealth. I have worked with clients of all ages in many different settings, including school-based, outpatient community mental health, private practice, and therapeutic communities. Therapy to me is about helping individuals overcome challenges in life, whether it's anxiety, stress, depression, work-related issues, relationship struggles, parenting challenges, career obstacles, or other stumbling blocks life throws their way. I hold a Master of Science in Education in Counseling from Harding University, a master's degree from Arkansas Tech University, and a bachelor's degree from Arkansas State University. My approach to therapy is person-centered, incorporating modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, and Behavioral Therapy. This approach allows me to build a genuine relationship with my clients based on trust, acceptance, and understanding. I offer empathy and guidance as you work on personal growth and change. I have found that my style and approach are a good fit for diverse populations. I have worked with adults, teens, and children, helping clients transition through challenging times and assisting them in building skills, confidence, and self-awareness to develop a more positive outlook on life. This approach has been effective with clients struggling with anxiety, depression, self-harming behaviors, behavioral issues, relationship difficulties, and severe mental health disorders such as bipolar 1 or 2. My communication style centers on listening without judgment, being genuine and humorous so clients feel comfortable sharing their reasons for seeking therapy, and being personable with empathy and understanding.
