Sometimes you can be doing everything you’re “supposed” to do and still feel like you’re struggling internally. You may be overwhelmed by anxiety, constantly questioning yourself, feeling emotionally drained, or wondering why it seems so difficult to simply feel confident and at peace. Maybe you’ve become so accustomed to pushing through that you don’t realize how exhausted you are until everything begins to feel like too much. I work with teens and adults navigating anxiety, low self-esteem, burnout, emotional overwhelm, life transitions, stress, and difficulty feeling confident in themselves. Whether you’re adjusting to a new season of life, struggling with racing thoughts, feeling pressure to have everything figured out, or simply wanting to feel more like yourself again, therapy can provide a space to slow down and begin making sense of what you’re experiencing. My approach is compassionate, collaborative, and intentional. I believe feeling heard is an important part of therapy, but I also want our sessions to help you move toward meaningful change. Together, we’ll identify patterns that may be contributing to how you feel, explore the thoughts and experiences underneath them, and develop practical strategies you can use in your everyday life. Our work may include learning to manage anxiety, regulate difficult emotions, challenge unhelpful thought patterns, strengthen self-esteem, develop healthier coping strategies, and create more balance in your life. Therapy is not about having everything figured out. It’s about giving yourself the opportunity to understand what you need and learn healthier ways to respond. You don’t have to navigate everything alone. My goal is to provide a supportive space where you can feel understood, recognize your strengths, build confidence in yourself, and take meaningful steps toward the life you want to create.

What should a new client know about working with you?

Starting therapy can feel uncomfortable, especially if you’re used to handling things on your own or aren’t sure where to begin. You may know that you’re anxious, overwhelmed, burned out, or unhappy with certain areas of your life without knowing exactly why. That’s okay. You don’t have to arrive with the perfect explanation or a complete list of goals. We can begin with what you know and work through the rest together. My style as a therapist is supportive, compassionate, collaborative, and structured. I want you to feel comfortable talking openly about what you’re experiencing without fear of judgment. At the same time, I believe therapy should provide more than a place to talk. You can expect me to actively participate by asking questions, providing education, helping you recognize patterns, and introducing practical strategies you can use outside of therapy. There may be times when we slow down and process an experience more deeply, and other sessions where we focus on learning a new skill or developing a plan for something you’re facing. We may explore how your thoughts influence your emotions, identify triggers, challenge negative beliefs about yourself, practice healthier coping strategies, or discuss ways to create more balance and boundaries in your life. I also believe progress can happen in small steps. You don’t have to completely transform your life between sessions. Sometimes progress looks like noticing an anxious thought before spiraling, responding differently to a stressful situation, setting one boundary, or speaking to yourself with more compassion. Our work is collaborative, which means your voice matters throughout the process. My goal is to create a space where you feel supported while receiving the guidance and tools you need to grow. Over time, I want you to feel more equipped to manage difficult moments, more confident in who you are, and more trusting of your ability to handle what comes next.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Our work begins with getting to know you and understanding life from your perspective. During our initial sessions, we’ll discuss what brought you to therapy, the concerns affecting you most, important experiences and relationships, how you’ve been coping, and what you would like to change. Together, we’ll identify goals that feel meaningful, realistic, and connected to what you want your life to look like. As we continue, we’ll identify patterns connected to your concerns. If you’re experiencing anxiety, we may explore your triggers, racing thoughts, physical responses, coping behaviors, and situations that intensify your symptoms. If you’re struggling with self-esteem or burnout, we might examine expectations you place on yourself, negative self-talk, boundaries, stressors, and patterns that leave you emotionally depleted. Once we understand what’s happening, we’ll focus on tools that help you respond differently. Depending on your needs, this may include emotional regulation and grounding strategies, challenging unhelpful thoughts, developing healthier coping skills, strengthening communication and boundaries, improving self-esteem, managing stress, or creating routines that support balance. Therapy will include both reflection and practical application. We may explore why a pattern exists while identifying what you can begin doing differently today. I’ll provide education and strategies so you can better understand your experiences and use what you’re learning outside our sessions. We’ll regularly revisit your goals and acknowledge your progress. If something isn’t working, we can adjust our approach together. Progress doesn’t require perfection; it’s built through awareness, practice, and small changes over time. Ultimately, my goal is for you to leave therapy feeling more confident in yourself, capable of managing difficult emotions and situations, and equipped with tools you can continue using long after our work together ends.
