I'm Kenneth David Scott Jr., a Caribbean American therapist from Canarsie, New York, with a background in psychology and social work. I hold a Bachelor's degree in Psychology from SUNY College at Old Westbury and a Master's in Social Work from Walden University. My professional journey has included roles as a case worker and social worker at HELP USA and the Institute for Community Living, and I currently serve as an evening social worker at SUNY Downstate Hospital Center.
What should a new client know about working with you?
With experience supporting adults across all ages with severe mental illnesses, my approach is rooted in compassion, understanding, and practical support. During the pandemic, I launched a mental health blog, The Mind According to Kenneth, aiming to make mental health topics accessible and relatable for everyone.
What is your typical process for working with clients?
Looking ahead, my goal is to deepen my expertise by obtaining a clinical license and pursuing a doctorate to teach at the university level. When I’m not working, I enjoy a good coffee and meaningful conversations with friends about personal growth and well-being. I am here to provide a supportive, non-judgmental space for you to explore your mental health journey, helping you find effective ways to manage challenges and achieve a more fulfilling life.
