Kenya Ayers, LCSWA

Psychotherapist
NC
I am Kenya L. Ayers, MSW, LCSWA, a compassionate and dedicated mental health therapist serving children, adolescents, and adults across North Carolina. My path in this field began at East Carolina University, where I earned my bachelor's degree in Family and Community Services with a concentration in Psychology. My undergraduate foundation gave me a deep understanding of family dynamics, child development, community support systems, and the environmental factors that shape overall well-being. It also fueled my passion for advocacy, empowerment, and creating meaningful impact within underserved communities. I went on to earn my Master of Social Work from Walden University, specializing in child and adolescent mental health. Today, I am deeply committed to supporting individuals who are navigating challenges such as anxiety, depression, anger, trauma, PTSD, emotional dysregulation, and self-esteem concerns. My therapeutic approach is rooted in empathy, collaboration, and evidence-based practices. I incorporate person-centered therapy, cognitive-behavioral strategies, and strength-based interventions to ensure every client feels heard, validated, and supported. I strive to create a warm, culturally affirming, and nonjudgmental space where clients can safely explore their emotions, develop healthy coping skills, and build a stronger sense of identity and self-worth. My goal is to help each person uncover their strengths, gain clarity, and walk confidently toward healing, personal growth, and long-term resilience.
