Getting to know Kerrie Wellman
Kerrie Wellman is a Licensed Independent Mental Health Practitioner, LIMHP and an associate of Tree of Hope Therapy Group. She received her Bachelors of Science in Psychology from the University of Nebraska at Kearney and a Master's of Science in Counseling from the University of Nebraska at Omaha. Kerrie has over a decade of experience working in many different settings and also in supervisory roles. She specializes in the treatment of children, adolescents and adults with a variety of presenting mental health concerns. Her specialties include trauma, depression, anxiety, grief/bereavement, infertility, postpartum, co-dependency, infidelity, behavioral problems, fostering attachment and family and relational issues.
Kerrie uses a variety of theories to best meet the needs of her clients but primarily utilizes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Solutions Focused Therapy (SFT). Kerrie also has specialized training in several different therapies such as Parent Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT), Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Play Therapy and Brainspotting (BSP).
Kerrie respects the courage it takes to come to counseling and believes that counseling does make a profound impact in people's lives. We all have the capacity to heal, change and grow.
