Getting to know Kerry Sullivan

I am a licensed clinical social worker with over 17 years of experience working in various mental health treatment settings. I hold a Master's in Social Work from Loyola University Chicago. I strongly believe that psychotherapy can help people heal in ways that significantly change their lives. Building a relationship with my clients in which they feel safe to explore feelings and challenge ways of being that are no longer working for them is the foundation of my treatment approach. I also integrate trauma-informed and neurobiological approaches into my work and often work with people who have complex trauma and dissociative disorders. I am trained in Sensorimotor Psychotherapy, a type of body-centered work that helps people understand how traumatic experiences are held in the body. Through accessing these experiences in the body, people can often shift out of habitual responses and patterns that are disruptive to their lives and relationships.
