Psychotherapist

Couples counseling, plus individual therapy for teens and adults. Most couples reach out when the same argument has been running for years and neither person feels heard anymore. My work is about interrupting that loop — helping you both slow down enough to say the real thing, and to actually hear it. I blend Cognitive Behavioral Therapy with somatic and trauma-informed practice, because what happens between two people isn't only in the words. It's in the tone, the bracing, what your body does in the three seconds before you answer. I'm Dr. Ketsia Alexandre. I hold a master's in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and a doctorate in Advanced Study in Human Behavior. I believe healing begins when people feel truly seen and understood — including by each other. I also work with individuals navigating anxiety, ADHD, parenting stress, and life transitions.

What should a new client know about working with you?

Clients describe me as authentic, compassionate, and collaborative. I understand how overwhelming it can feel to start therapy, and I want you to know that our work together is a partnership. I draw not only from research and training but also from my own lived experience as a neurodivergent woman, a mother, and an advocate for mental health equity. I welcome clients of all backgrounds, with a special commitment to serving diverse and multicultural communities, including African-American, Caribbean, Hispanic/Latino, and immigrant families. I am fluent in Creole and French, which allows me to provide therapy in multiple languages and create a safe, culturally-responsive space.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Therapy with me goes beyond talking. We pay attention to what your body is doing while you talk — the bracing, the shutting down, the heat that climbs right before you say the thing you'll regret — because that's usually where the pattern actually lives. I pair that with CBT, so you also leave with something you can think your way through. With couples, the early work is finding the loop. Most couples aren't fighting about the dishes — they're running a sequence they've run a thousand times, and neither person can see their own half of it. Once we can name it out loud, we slow it down in the room, in real time while it's happening, until you can catch it yourselves at home. With adults, we start with what's keeping you stuck — the patterns you can see clearly and still can't interrupt. We build grounding skills for the moments that flood you, and go into the older material underneath when you're ready and not before. With teens, I spend the first few sessions earning trust and not pushing. Most teenagers know exactly what's wrong and have never once been asked without an agenda attached. When words feel like too much we use movement and art-based work instead. I keep parents oriented to where we're going without reporting what's said in the room. What I'm working toward is this: that the reaction stops running you. That you feel it coming and still get to choose what happens next.

In-network insurances

Dr. Ketsia Alexandre is not in-network with any insurances

It’s common for mental health providers to be out-of-network. Many insurance plans offer out-of-network coverage, so you may get partially reimbursed. Learn more

Out-of-pocket fees and assistance
Initial session: $175 for 60 minutes
Ongoing session: $175 for 60 minutes
  • Sliding scale: Offers lower out-of-pocket fees on an individual basis, typically based on your ability to pay
  • Files your insurance claim: You pay the session fee upfront and the provider files the claim for you, so you can get reimbursed directly without worrying about the paperwork

More information on payments and coverage

Rates. Sessions are $125–$175 with our clinicians. We accept all major credit cards, and HSA and FSA cards — therapy is an eligible expense under most plans, so if you've set that money aside, you can use it here. Insurance. We're in-network with Optum/United through November 6, 2026. After that we're out of network with all plans. We provide a superbill after every session that you can submit to your insurer for out-of-network reimbursement — many plans reimburse a meaningful portion. Why we work this way. Insurance requires us to give you a diagnosis, and it can limit how often we meet, how long we work together, and what approach we're allowed to use. Paying directly means the plan is yours and your therapist's to make, and your record stays between the two of you. If cost is a concern, bring it up on your consult call. We have payment plans, and if we're not the right financial fit we'll point you to providers and low-cost options we trust.
