Psychotherapist
119 W 57th St, Suite 1100, New York, NY
I try to bring a spirit of curiosity to my work as a licensed therapist. I believe judgment and criticism are self-defeating. I hold a Master's in Mental Health Counseling from Pace University and am trained in both feeling and cognitive therapy. I have over 20,000 clinical hours working with patients suffering from anxiety, depression, substance abuse, and trauma. Additionally, I am trained to provide alternative therapies for PTSD, depression, and anxiety, such as ketamine-assisted therapy, with two-hour sessions available. I am available for both telehealth and prefer in-person sessions in our beautiful office in Midtown Manhattan, on 57th Street.

What should a new client know about working with you?

A new client should know that Kevin is a compassion-focused therapist with a deep training in many modalities, the most important of which are Integrated Feeling Therapy, Interpersonal Dynamics and Personality Profile Dynamics (The Enneagram, Myers-Briggs and Gregorc Thinking Style Denominator). He was also the prodigy of the famous radio host, Armand DiMele, who was the host of the popular radio show, The Positive Mind, for over 30 years. Kevin is also trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

A typical session will build on the last session where Kevin and the client will discuss, at the beginning, where they want to proceed with last week's topic. If something new is pressing in the moment then Kevin and the client will explore what is the most important item to talk about. Kevin is always looking for the emotional core of what the client is talking about and presenting. Frequently, it is sometyhing outside the awareness of the client, and Kevin will gently present his thoughts on what might be occurring. A session is really a collaboration between Kevin and the client. Kevin frequently checks in with the client to see if they are getting what they need.
