Getting to know Dr. Kevin Pinjuv

I provide personalized one-on-one psychotherapy services to individuals. My approach is eclectic, integrating the client-centered philosophies of the humanistic tradition, the concrete skill-based methods of mindfulness-based modalities, and the depth perspective of psychoanalysis. I believe every client is unique, and I tailor each session to be most helpful to the individual. Theories, techniques, and tools are only useful insofar as they increase a person’s sense of well-being or insight. Because I don’t believe in “one-size-fits-all” therapy, I maintain a flexible and receptive attitude toward each person I work with. I have had the privilege of serving a diverse range of individuals from various ethnic, cultural, and sexual orientation/identity backgrounds. Before beginning my studies in clinical psychology, I worked at civil rights and nonprofit organizations on the East Coast, including the Human Rights Campaign and the College Success Foundation. I hold a PsyD in Clinical Psychology and a Master’s in Psychology from Sofia University, as well as a Bachelor’s degree from Vassar College. I have a regular meditation practice, which I consider essential for maintaining my own peace of mind and for helping me better connect with clients. I have a particular interest in the intersection of spirituality and psychology. I truly love my work and feel grateful to get to know each client, exploring together how they can live a happier, more satisfying life.
