You or your child may be carrying emotions that feel too big, overwhelming, or difficult to explain. Trauma can show up in many ways—including anxiety, anger, emotional shutdown, difficulty trusting others, unhealthy coping behaviors, relationship struggles, or feeling constantly on edge. For children, it may appear as meltdowns, impulsivity, irritability, withdrawal, difficulty communicating feelings, or trouble calming down once upset. You do not have to navigate these challenges alone.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I work with adults who have experienced trauma and with children and teens who need support developing emotional regulation, healthy coping skills, and greater confidence expressing themselves. I strive to create a warm, accepting environment where clients feel understood rather than judged. When working with young clients, I use developmentally appropriate and engaging interventions while collaborating with parents and caregivers to reinforce progress outside of therapy. My approach is individualized because healing does not look the same for everyone. I draw from trauma-informed care, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), solution-focused therapy, and psychodynamic approaches. Depending on the client’s needs and comfort level, sessions may also incorporate creative activities, grounding exercises, breathwork, mindfulness, body awareness, and other integrative techniques. As a certified Meditation Practitioner, I especially enjoy working with clients who are interested in meditation, mindfulness, and alternative approaches to emotional wellness. Meditation does not require you to completely clear your mind or sit silently for long periods. I introduce practical and accessible techniques that can help clients slow down, reconnect with themselves, regulate their nervous systems, and respond to emotions with greater awareness. For children, mindfulness may look like breathing games, sensory grounding, movement, emotion-identification activities, or short calming exercises. These practices can help children recognize what is happening in their minds and bodies before their emotions become overwhelming. Parents may also learn strategies for supporting emotional regulation, communication, and connection at home. For adults healing from trauma, our work may include understanding triggers, recognizing survival responses, exploring recurring patterns, strengthening boundaries, and developing healthier ways to cope with distress.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

You will not be expected to share every detail of your experiences before you feel ready. We will move at a pace that respects your safety, comfort, and goals. Therapy with me is collaborative, genuine, and compassionate. I balance emotional support with practical tools and honest feedback. Whether you are seeking healing for yourself or looking for support for your child, my goal is to help you feel more grounded, emotionally secure, and confident in your ability to navigate life’s challenges.
