In the midst of challenges, opportunities for change and growth often present themselves. Life is hard, complex, and beautiful all at once, and we are all connected by the human condition of facing difficult challenges. Whether you need help navigating your way out of a dark tunnel or untangling and making sense of past experiences, the good news is you don’t have to do it alone. I can hike with you as you learn to confront your deepest fears and gain the confidence and skills to engage with life in a way that brings you joy and meaning. Age, color, and background aside, we all seek the same thing in life: feelings of connection and joy. I have several years of clinical experience and work with clients in the areas of anxiety, depression, life transitions, substance abuse, and trauma. While my main approach is CBT, I also understand that getting well is not accomplished through a one-size-fits-all approach. I hold a Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from California State University, Fresno, which informs my compassionate and individualized approach to care.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

In our first meeting, you can expect me to gather some general information, just like at a first doctor’s appointment. During this time, we will discuss why you are seeking treatment. It is common to feel nervous at first, so this would be a great time to ask any questions you might have about the process. When do you know progress is happening? I tell my clients that awareness and progress can bring on a degree of discomfort or uncertainty. However, you will learn the necessary coping skills to manage difficult emotions as they come. Progress can also bring about mental clarity; the goal is to empower you to engage with life in ways that promote your meaning of wellness.
