Kim Moyer is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) with over 20 years of experience. She earned her Masters Degree from Governors State University in Counseling and a certification in Professional School Counseling from Chicago State University. Kim has worked with children and adolescents for most of her career with specialized training in depression, anxiety and addictions. As a school counselor, Kim has been further trained in working with teenagers that struggle with ADHD and executive functioning issues. As a counselor, Kim is extremely comfortable and skilled in working with children, adolescents and adults.
Kim believes that counseling is a process and is known for her supportive, yet up front approach. She uses many modalities to meet the needs of her clients, including the use of mindfulness and relaxation. Her theoretical approach is based on Cognitive Behavioral therapy while also using some aspects of Positive Psychology, which includes finding one’s strengths as they look to find more meaning in their life.
