Kim Poirier, MSW

Psychotherapist
MI
Hello! My name is Kim. I am a master's-level social worker (LMSW-C) with a Master's in Social Work from Wayne State University and a Certified Advanced Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CAADC). It is my job to help empower and guide you as you explore what has brought you into therapy. I have extensive experience working within a crisis setting, which has allowed me to support individuals with various diagnoses, including those with severe and persistent mental illness as well as co-occurring disorders. I strive to create a safe and non-judgmental space for clients. As we work through what brings you into our sessions, you are in the driver's seat, and I am along for the ride as your support person. My goal as a therapist is to help you create a foundation to better enable yourself to move through the more difficult periods of your life. I think of therapy as a tool that allows us to problem-solve with someone who offers a non-biased ear. Periodically, we will explore hard truths but will do so in a way that is affirming and empathic. In my spare time, I am an avid dog lover and reader. I can often be found in a cute bookstore or trying a new coffee shop. I adore traveling around Michigan and traveling in general!

More information on payments and coverage

Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.
