Getting to know Kimberley Dixon

Are you ready to stop just surviving and to start thriving? Are you ready to find your joy? I have 20+ years of experience in the behavioral health fields and I specialize in Trauma (PTSD), Substance Abuse, and all Co-Occurring mental health disorders. My client approach is open, accepting, warm, and friendly and always begins with meeting clients where-they-are-at; with Client-Centered, Holistic, and Trauma Informed Care.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I am highly trained and skilled in many therapeutic modalities. However, my preferential therapeutic modality is Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). I have seen over the years of counseling clients that trauma comes in many forms, and many clients don’t know or recognize that they are being triggered from past or current traumas. EMDR is a structured therapy that involves having patients focus on a traumatic memory while simultaneously experiencing bilateral stimulation (sound tones). The goal is to reduce the vividness and emotion distress associated with the memories. I have been fortunate enough to have assisted many clients in making amazing progress reducing or eliminating their traumatic triggers over the past 10+ years through EMDR. So if you feel you have experienced trauma in your life or are struggling with anxiety or depression and you are ready to start your healing journey.
