Getting to know Kimberly Hollingsworth

Hello, I’m Kim, a licensed professional clinical counselor. I am trained to provide mental health counseling services to adolescents and adults in the outpatient counseling setting. I graduated from Morehead State University with a bachelor’s degree in Education and earned a master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of the Cumberlands. My previous work experience includes teaching elementary school, housing focused case management, individual and group substance use counseling, forensic mental healthcare, and private practice. I have experience working with individuals with various mental health concerns including, mood, anxiety, substance abuse concerns, relationships, sex and intimacy issues, religious deconstruction, and involvement with the criminal justice system. I also specialize in assisting individuals who are working toward resolving problem gambling concerns. I am LGBTQ+ affirming. I utilize evidence-based therapeutic techniques including cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy techniques, client centered therapy, motivational interviewing, solution focused, and strengths based approaches to support and empower my clients in achieving their goals.
