Psychotherapist
FL
Hi, my name is Kimberly and I’d love to be your therapist. In the ten years I’ve been a social worker, I’ve served people from all walks of life—of all ages, gender identities, religious backgrounds, trauma histories, housing statuses, and more. Lately, I’ve focused my work on those who have experienced domestic or sexual violence, as the intimate nature of this trauma requires a special kind of nuance, understanding, and empathy. I want to help you heal. I’m not here to judge you or make you feel guilty. But I want to help you learn, create boundaries, cope, and grow, and that may make you uncomfortable along the way. I want us to be a team. I commit to doing the work with you. My anxiety used to be crippling. It was unreasonable, caused me to be completely out of touch with reality, and made me hate myself for my indecision. I remember the hole that it felt like trapped me. I remember feeling weighed down, buried. I look back and cringe at the unhealthy coping strategies I employed. I avoided unpleasant situations that caused my anxiety to spike. I gave in to that fear that gnawed me raw. I felt so ashamed of my indecision. But I grew. I forgave myself and started a journey to understand what triggered my anxiety, fear, and avoidance and what in my life had caused them. It was challenging. I am better for having learned and grown. I accepted myself, with a realistic view of my patterns of behavior, and let go of those unhealthy habits I believed could shield me from pain. I healed. I empathize greatly with those who struggle on that journey now. It is my passion to help them reach their goals, utilize healthier coping habits, and feel more satisfied with themselves. I earned my Master’s in Social Work from Florida State University, which has equipped me with the knowledge and skills to support you effectively on your healing journey.
