Psychotherapist
MS
My name is Abby Miller, and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with a Master's in Social Work from the University of Alabama. My approach to therapy is people-centered, solution-focused, and trauma-informed. I emphasize empowerment, resilience, and healing, striving to create a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental environment where people can explore their experiences, build coping skills, and work toward meaningful change. I integrate cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), strengths-based interventions, and mindfulness techniques, tailoring my approach to each individual's unique needs. My focus areas include military and family counseling, postpartum support and women's issues, trauma recovery, domestic violence intervention, and mental health advocacy. With extensive experience supporting survivors of domestic violence, military personnel, and families in crisis, I specialize in helping individuals navigate stress, anxiety, parenting and relationship challenges, and life transitions. My goal is to provide practical tools, emotional support, and a collaborative path forward to foster long-term well-being. I typically work with teenagers, those in early adulthood, and couples, as well as survivors of domestic violence, individuals experiencing trauma, and those navigating life transitions. Many of my clients face challenges related to stress, depression, anxiety, PTSD, relationship difficulties, and family dynamics. I am most comfortable treating trauma-related disorders, anxiety, depression, postpartum anxiety and depression, and adjustment issues. My experience in family advocacy and crisis intervention allows me to support clients in healing from past experiences, building resilience, and developing coping strategies for lasting well-being.
