Getting to know Kimberly Newcombe

You are struggling with anxious thoughts, low mood, irritability—the invisible load that is placed upon you. Maybe you’re feeling not quite like yourself—like you aren’t living your healthiest, happiest, and most well-functioning life. Maybe you’re also a mom and feel like you’re drowning or missing out on the happy moments you feel you’re supposed to have with your kids because of your mental health. I get it. It’s a really difficult struggle, and you are not alone. I help women and moms who are struggling with anxiety, depression, and perinatal mental health. I specialize in using an integrative therapy approach, meaning that I tailor what I do in each session to best suit you. It’s so important that you get what you truly need from therapy, and I will be there to support whatever that looks like for you. I provide a safe and validating space for you to be authentically and unapologetically yourself. Starting counseling can be really overwhelming, and it’s totally normal to feel anxious or scared. The fact that you’re here right now, looking for help, is the biggest step you can take. You deserve to live the life you want to live. In our sessions, I will meet you where you are and walk alongside you as we work through these things together. You don’t have to do this alone. Start where you are. I hold a Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology from Indiana Wesleyan University, which has equipped me with the knowledge and skills to support you on your journey.

What should a new client know about working with you?

The first session of therapy can be scary especially if it is something you've not done before. Our first session is a history lesson all about you. It can be overwhelming and I absolutely understand that. I will ask a lot of questions. However, after this, we focus on what you need to focus on. Your goals are our goals together, therapeutically. Though I am primarily talk based, I do give out homework (like using a certain coping skill or having a conversation you are needing to) in an effort to help you make progress outside of our time together. Your time is valuable and so is your progress. It's important to me to make sure you feel as if your needs are met in our sessions together.

More information on payments and coverage

Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.
