Kimberly Newcombe, LPC

Psychotherapist
CT
Hi there, I'm Kimberly! I am a licensed counselor in Connecticut and Vermont, with a Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Indiana Wesleyan University. I use an integrative and individualized approach to therapy. My specialties include women’s and perinatal mental health, focusing on infertility, pregnancy loss, postpartum anxiety/depression, OCD, and self-esteem. My approach I prioritize finding a therapy style that works and feels comfortable for each individual. I don’t believe in a one-size-fits-all method. I’m primarily talk-based and use evidence-based techniques such as ERP, CBT, and person-centered, humanistic methods. My focus I mainly work with adult women experiencing mood, anxiety, OCD, or self-esteem challenges. I specialize in supporting women on the path to motherhood, including those facing infertility or loss. Pregnant and postpartum women are my biggest focus, with specialized training in postpartum depression, anxiety, rage, OCD, and life transitions. My communication style Creating a safe, nonjudgmental space is essential. I want clients to feel valued and respected, fostering a strong therapeutic relationship. My journey to mental healthcare I became a therapist after facing my own mental health challenges, including motherhood. I specialize in perinatal and women’s mental health because I’ve been through those experiences. It’s vital to me that women don’t feel alone and have support. Being a woman and/or mom can be isolating, so having community is invaluable. My goals for you It’s important that therapy goals are ones you want to work on. While I may suggest additional goals, your priorities always come first.
