Hi there, I'm Kimberly! My name is Kimberly (Kim) Van Enk, and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW). I earned my Master’s in Social Work and Bachelor’s degree from California State University, Dominguez Hills. Working with individuals facing substance abuse and co-occurring disorders has been my passion for the last 12 years. I have experience supporting the LGBTQ+ population, veterans, homeless individuals, and professionals. No matter the background, I utilize clinical interventions tailored to each person’s unique needs. My approach includes CBT, DBT, Trauma-Informed Care, Solution-Focused Therapy, Strengths-Based methods, ACT, Mindfulness, and psychoeducation. My focus is typically on those with substance use disorders, major depressive disorder (MDD), generalized anxiety disorder (GAD), personality disorders, and other co-occurring conditions. I also work with clients facing legal challenges such as criminal justice issues, professional monitoring, and DCFS involvement. My communication style is personal, honest, free-flowing, and flexible. My journey to mental healthcare began because I was once helped, and I want to help others in return. My goals for you are to provide clear and flexible boundaries along with accountability. In our first session, I focus on building rapport by discussing expectations, exploring your presenting concerns, and beginning to establish goals for therapy.
