Kimberly Vance, LCSW

Psychotherapist
TX
Hello, I'm Kim! I've wanted to be in a helping profession for as long as I can remember; I just didn't know exactly how. I fell in love with Social Work during a global children's health course in undergrad in 2005, and the rest is history. I continued studying Social Work, Psychology, and Sociology, learning as much as I could inside and outside the classroom. I earned my Master's in Social Work from the University of New England, which deepened my knowledge and skills. I've worked in many different professional settings, including child welfare, managing group homes for individuals with disabilities, early intervention assessment and skills training, care management in a domestic violence survivor program, and as a mental health technician, therapist, and Assistant Clinical Director in a psychiatric hospital. My diverse professional and personal backgrounds make me a holistic provider.

What should a new client know about working with you?

While my credentials make me a therapist, I prefer to think of myself as just another human being lucky to join people on their journey. You can expect empathy, dedication, use of sense of humor, and for me to ask questions so I can creatively tailor your experience to best serve you. I crave to know as much as you're willing to share, and will do my best to make you feel comfortable throughout your time with me. I believe the therapeutic relationship is a true partnership, so you can expect that I express gratitude to you for being present. If you do not see a session time that works for you, please send me a message here on Grow and I will check my calendar closer for other available times.

More information on payments and coverage

Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.
