I’m Kim Wilson, a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor and National Certified Counselor who works with teens and adults navigating anxiety, stress, burnout, low self-esteem, life transitions, and feeling overwhelmed or stuck. My approach to therapy is warm, collaborative, and practical. I believe you should feel comfortable being yourself in therapy while also having a space that encourages growth and meaningful change. I draw from approaches including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and EMDR, tailoring our work to your individual needs, experiences, and goals. Before becoming a therapist, I worked as an educator, which continues to shape the way I approach therapy—with patience, curiosity, and an appreciation for the different ways people learn, grow, and process their experiences. Whether you’re experiencing constant overthinking, struggling to manage stress, feeling disconnected from yourself, or simply realizing that something needs to change, you don’t have to have everything figured out before reaching out. We can start where you are and work together toward where you’d like to be.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I believe therapy works best when you feel comfortable, understood, and able to be yourself. My approach is warm, collaborative, and down-to-earth, while also helping you identify patterns and make meaningful changes. I often work with clients navigating anxiety, stress, burnout, self-esteem, life transitions, and feeling overwhelmed or stuck. I incorporate approaches such as CBT and EMDR based on your individual needs and goals. You don’t need to have everything figured out before starting therapy. We’ll begin by getting to know what’s bringing you in, what you’d like to be different, and what kind of support feels most helpful to you. Therapy is a collaborative process, and we’ll move at a pace that feels manageable while working toward meaningful, practical change.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Our first few sessions focus on getting to know you, understanding what brings you to therapy, and identifying what you would like to work toward. Together, we’ll develop goals that feel meaningful and realistic for your life. From there, sessions are tailored to your individual needs. I use a collaborative approach and may incorporate CBT, EMDR, psychoeducation, skill-building, and other strategies depending on what feels most helpful for you. Throughout therapy, we’ll regularly check in on your progress, adjust our approach when needed, and make sure our work continues to align with your goals. My goal is to create a space where you feel supported while also gaining practical tools and deeper insight that you can carry with you outside of therapy.
