Getting to know Kimmarie Kearns-Vinal

If your body stays on high alert long after the danger has passed, trauma may be driving what you’re experiencing. Welcome to Trauma Healing Support (THS) – Where Healing Happens. We are a trauma-specialized practice helping adults move out of survival mode and into greater stability, clarity, and emotional control. Our work focuses on the nervous system—not just symptoms—so healing can occur at the root. THS is led by an EMDRIA-certified, IFS-trained therapist with over a decade of clinical experience. We specialize in PTSD, complex trauma, anxiety, depression, and trauma-related somatic symptoms, using evidence-based approaches designed for lasting change. Treatment integrates EMDR, Internal Family Systems (IFS), and attachment-informed therapy in a structured, collaborative way. Sessions are paced to support regulation, reduce trauma reactivity, and build internal safety—especially for clients who have felt overwhelmed, misunderstood, or “too much” in prior therapy. We provide secure telehealth services to adults in Massachusetts, Connecticut, Rhode Island, and New Hampshire. You don’t have to keep managing this alone. Schedule a consultation to see whether Trauma Healing Support is the right fit for your healing work.

What should a new client know about working with you?

Discover what it feels like to live with more calm, clarity, and control. At Trauma Healing Support (THS), we specialize in helping adults heal from trauma and chronic stress using evidence-based approaches designed for the nervous system—not just talk therapy. Our work integrates EMDR and Internal Family Systems (IFS) to address the root of distress by safely reprocessing past experiences that continue to shape emotional reactions, relationships, and sense of safety. The goal isn’t just coping—it’s reducing trauma’s hold so you can feel more grounded, connected, and present in your life. Treatment is personalized and paced, with a strong focus on secure attachment, emotional regulation, and internal safety. Care is collaborative, attuned, and responsive to your lived experience, supporting lasting emotional resilience rather than short-term relief. You don’t have to do this alone. With the right support, meaningful healing is possible. Schedule a consultation with Trauma Healing Support — Where Healing Happens.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

When anxiety, burnout, or trauma reactions keep showing up no matter how much insight you have, the nervous system often needs direct support. Our approach is structured, collaborative, and trauma-responsive, designed for adults who want depth, clarity, and evidence-based care—not just coping strategies. In the early phase of treatment, we work together to understand what’s keeping you stuck—whether that’s chronic anxiety, emotional shutdown, overwhelm, or trauma-related reactivity. We clarify goals and map the internal patterns and nervous system responses that continue to drive distress, even when life looks “functional” on the outside. We specialize in EMDR and Internal Family Systems (IFS), approaches that work with the emotional and neurological roots of distress. Treatment is paced and intentional, integrating present-day concerns with earlier experiences and targeted reprocessing when stability and readiness are in place. To support this work, we offer weekly trauma-informed skills groups focused on building emotional regulation, grounding, and resilience. These groups help reduce day-to-day reactivity, increase internal safety, and strengthen the capacity needed for effective trauma processing. Groups meet weekly and are offered at a rate of $75 per session, providing a structured, lower-cost way to begin building these skills. Many of the individuals we work with are high-functioning professionals who have spent years pushing through while feeling internally overwhelmed. Our work supports not just better functioning, but feeling calmer, more regulated, and more in control over time. If you’re ready to move beyond insight alone and build the internal capacity needed for lasting healing, we welcome the opportunity to support you.
