Psychotherapist

I believe therapy is a collaborative journey toward healing, growth, and a greater understanding of yourself. I work with adults experiencing depression, anxiety, mood disorders, addiction, trauma, and other challenges that can make it difficult to feel like yourself or move forward in the way you would like. I also provide parenting and co-parenting coaching for individuals navigating the challenges of raising children and managing changing family dynamics. My goal is to create a warm, welcoming, and nonjudgmental environment where you can talk openly about what you’re experiencing and feel genuinely heard. Therapy should be a place where you can explore difficult experiences without fear of judgment while also recognizing the strengths and abilities you already possess. My approach is strengths-based and collaborative. Together, we’ll look at the connections between your experiences, the meaning you’ve made from them, and the ways they may influence your thoughts, emotions, relationships, and choices today. We’ll also identify the strengths and resources you can draw upon as you work toward your goals. Whether you are struggling with anxiety or depression, working through the effects of trauma, navigating addiction or recovery, managing a mood disorder, or facing parenting or relationship challenges, you don’t have to figure everything out on your own. I bring a compassionate and down-to-earth approach to therapy. My goal is to help you gain insight, recognize your strengths, develop healthier ways of navigating challenges, and feel increasingly confident in your ability to create positive and meaningful changes in your life.

What should a new client know about working with you?

When you work with me, you can expect a warm, collaborative, and nonjudgmental environment where you have space to talk honestly about what is happening in your life. You don’t need to have everything figured out before starting therapy. We can begin with where you are today and work together to determine where you would like to go. I believe that every person brings strengths, experiences, and perspectives into therapy that are important to the healing process. Rather than focusing only on what is going wrong, I also want to help you recognize what has helped you get this far and how your existing strengths can become part of creating meaningful change. Our work may involve exploring how past and present experiences influence your emotions, behaviors, relationships, and the way you see yourself. We can also look at the meaning you have made from those experiences and identify patterns that may be making it harder to reach your goals. I work with adults experiencing depression, anxiety, mood disorders, addiction, and the effects of trauma. I also offer parenting and co-parenting coaching, providing a supportive space to work through communication, boundaries, changing family dynamics, and the everyday challenges that can come with parenting. Most importantly, I want you to feel heard and supported throughout the process. Therapy is something we do together. My role is to walk alongside you, help you recognize your strengths, and support you as you develop greater insight, confidence, and the ability to make positive changes in your life.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Our work begins by getting to know you, understanding what brings you to therapy, and identifying what you would like to change. During our first few sessions, we’ll discuss the challenges you’re experiencing, important life experiences, your relationships and support systems, and the goals you would like to work toward. If you aren’t sure exactly what those goals are yet, we can figure that out together. From there, we’ll develop a plan that reflects your individual needs and priorities. Because I view therapy as a collaborative process, you will have an active role in deciding what we focus on and what meaningful progress looks like for you. My approach is strengths-based, so our work involves more than identifying problems. Together, we’ll explore the connections between your experiences, the meaning you’ve made from them, and how they may be affecting your thoughts, emotions, behaviors, and relationships today. We’ll also identify the strengths, skills, and resources you already have and find ways to build upon them. For clients seeking parenting or co-parenting support, our sessions may focus on communication, boundaries, conflict, changing family dynamics, and developing strategies that support both you and your children. As therapy progresses, we’ll regularly evaluate how things are going and adjust our focus based on your needs. My goal is to provide a supportive environment where you can gain insight, build on your strengths, make meaningful changes, and develop greater confidence in your ability to navigate challenges both now and in the future.
