Getting to know Kirsten Long

Hi there! I am Kirsten, and I have been a social worker for five years. I earned my Master's in Social Work from the University of Pennsylvania. For the past five years, I have worked in trauma emergency rooms, and I have been counseling for about a year now. I am truly in love with counseling and connecting with people. Do you lay awake at night with an overwhelmed mind? I help ease the mind. I support individuals through past and current trauma, as well as those experiencing compassion fatigue and burnout from work to home. I am passionate about helping with relationship issues, using compassion and empathy. I also specialize in working with CBT to alleviate anxiety and overthinking. Together, we can work through past traumas and identify the triggers that cause your anxiety using mindfulness, journaling, and coloring. Whether you're dealing with overwhelm, relationship challenges, or cycles of anxiety and depression, I'm here to help. Seeking therapy can feel scary, but you're making the right choice. You deserve a safe space to heal and grow. In our sessions, I'll meet you with compassion and evidence-based techniques so you can overcome the hangups and habits holding you back. Let's work together to help you establish equilibrium in your life and mind.

What should a new client know about working with you?

We will be using a trauma informed approach I can acknowledge the need to understand a patient's life experiences in order to deliver effective care. You will take away mindfulness, meditation skills that you can use all the time. We will make your treatment plan together and set goals that are attainable. You a therapeutic environment that is compassionate, empathetic, and safe. You will be able to take home coping strategies that will assist during times of crisis.

More information on payments and coverage

Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.
