Klint Hughes, LCSW

Psychotherapist
UT
Hi there, I'm Klint! My name is Klint Use, and I am a licensed clinical social worker. I enjoy helping people gain new skills to enable them to get their life back and become more productive members of society. I earned my Master's in Social Work from Walla Walla University and my Bachelor's degree from Idaho State University. My approach Some of my therapeutic approaches include Dialectical Behavior Therapy and the skill set associated with that type of therapy. I also like to use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, which allows clients to more fully understand where they are at and motivates them to change and become the person they want to be. My focus I enjoy working with all types of clients aged 14 and older. I especially like working with clients who have substance use issues. I also enjoy helping clients who suffer from mental health disorders better manage their signs and symptoms. My communication style I enjoy using humor in my therapeutic sessions. Humor has the ability to relax people but also makes overcoming difficulties a lot less emotionally painful. During therapy, I like to use a client-centered approach to help clients understand where they are at and to help them realize that the difficulties they are going through can be overcome. My journey to mental healthcare Becoming a therapist has been a lifelong goal for me. Having seen my personal family members struggle with mental health and addiction, I set out to be a resource and an avenue to help those who are struggling emotionally and to help them overcome those emotions. They say people become therapists for two reasons: the first is to fix themselves, and the second is for the pure enjoyment of helping others become more successful in their own lives. I'll let you decide why I chose to become a therapist.
