“Knar Kaakejian is absolutely amazing! She was honest and straight forward from day one. Knar listened to everything I said, even when I talked for 10 minutes straight. She called me out if I was wrong, helped uncover the truth, gave me insight and advice, and helped me realize a lot about myself as well as those surrounding me. I’m so sad my time cut got short with her, but it brings me joy to know there are other individuals out there doing the work with her!”

Getting to know Knar Kaakejian

Hi there! My name is Knar Kahkejian, and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with a Master's in Social Work from San Francisco State University. I have been practicing clinically for 5 years and have been an agent of change in the world of Social Work for the past 10 years. My approach is all about being client-centered while taking into account all the environmental and internal factors that can cause us to experience challenges in life. So let's work together to mitigate some of those challenges and enhance your quality of life. My approach I wholeheartedly believe the client is the expert in their lives! I will never tell you what you need to do; however, I will challenge you when necessary and be your guide on your life journey to provide support in the areas you seek help with. My therapy style is in-depth, talk-based, and psychoanalytic, grounded in Jungian theory. My focus I specialize in working with at-risk youth, teens, adolescents, adults, and families. My experience ranges from working in residential facilities with foster youth, youth involved with the Juvenile Correctional system, and the Department of Children and Family Services, to providing mental health services within the education/school system, community-based mental health care, and private group practice with adults. I am most comfortable treating individuals who experience depression, anxiety, trauma, mood dysregulation, attention deficit and hyperactive disorder, autism, and those who struggle with personal or romantic relationships. My communication style My communication style is very relaxed and non-intimidating. I want us to feel like we are having a conversation, with no judgment, no expectations-just us focusing on getting you to where you want to be. I can provide more structured sessions for those who do better with that type of approach, or it can be very go-with-the-flow. You call the shots!
