Hello! My name is Kodie Henscheid, LPC-S, and my therapy assistant (the doodle) is Sam. I've been a mental health provider since 2011, and I completed both my undergraduate and graduate degrees at Sam Houston State University in Huntsville, TX. I offer virtual counseling sessions to help you navigate life's challenges, and I'm excited to work with you and hear your story. My main areas of focus include trauma (military, sexual, and childhood), substance use, depression, anxiety, anger management, self-esteem, and emotional regulation skills. I primarily utilize a cognitive-behavioral approach, which means I believe that our thoughts influence our feelings and behaviors. If we want to change our behaviors and feelings, we need to explore and adjust our thoughts. Life has a way of just happening, and sometimes we have to pivot in ways we did not expect or want to. That's where I come in—to help you walk this journey and get to the place you want or need to be. Being located in the Houston area, I find that the traffic keeps me on my toes as a counselor. It always provides me with learning moments to practice what I share with you all and keeps me committed to the cause of inner well-being. Whether you're dealing with trauma, substance use, depression, anxiety, or any of the other areas I specialize in, I'm here to support you.
