Kortney Genske, LPC

Psychotherapist
4007 N Broadway, Ste 106, Chicago, IL
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and completed my master’s degree in counseling psychology at The Chicago School of Professional Psychology. My primary work has been with trauma, substance use, the LGBTQIA+ community, depression, anxiety, and various personality disorders, as well as relational and couples counseling. I am very passionate about providing a space for all people to feel safe and seen for every part of who they are. I welcome all aspects of intersectionality and visible or hidden identities in the space with us. I believe mental health is a holistic aspect of our being. I like to approach mental health from all spheres of life: psychological, social, physical, and spiritual, as well as cultural and systemic. My approach is trauma informed and rooted in client-centered therapy, but I also draw from other approaches, such as cultural/feminist, narrative, CBT, DBT, ACT, and IFS. I believe my job as a therapist is to walk with you on your journey, empower you, and offer you new ways of looking at situations/experiences. After all, YOU are the expert on your life.
