Hello, I'm Kourtney Brown (she/they). I am a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate under the supervision of Loren Gibson, MA, LMFT-S, LPC-S. I was born and raised in the state of Kansas, where I graduated from Fort Hays State University and received my Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. My experience spans working with college students in counseling, disability and accessibility services, and providing crisis support for survivors of domestic violence. These roles have shaped my approach to therapy, allowing me to connect with clients in a genuine, compassionate way. I specialize in helping individuals navigate challenges such as depression, anxiety, identity exploration, and life transitions, utilizing evidence-based approaches like CBT, DBT, and solution-focused techniques. My therapeutic style is warm, authentic, and collaborative, with a focus on fostering a safe and supportive space where we can explore your unique experiences and work toward meaningful change. My goal as your counselor is to help you develop personalized coping strategies and skills that support long-term growth and healing. I believe in the power of a positive, encouraging environment for personal development, and I am committed to helping you achieve your therapeutic goals in a way that honors your individual journey. When I’m not counseling, you can find me weightlifting, watching anime, playing video games, or spending quality time with my partner and dog.
