Getting to know Krista Bergeron

I'm a Licensed Professional Counselor in Louisiana and a National Certified Counselor. My practice is in the Gonzales area. After spending more than 15 years as a nurse in a variety of specialties, I desired something more and found counseling to be a complementary role. I earned two degrees from Nicholls State University: a Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and an undergraduate degree in Psychology with a minor in Addictive Behaviors. Working as your therapist is truly an honor for me. I'm always seeking to become more knowledgeable and an attuned counselor. Outside of the office, I can be found appreciating nature, gardening, reading, listening to music, and spending time with family and friends.

What should a new client know about working with you?

My approach encourages transparency, value-driven decision making, humor, self-compassion, and acceptance. I combine clinical insight and empathy to take time to understand and work with people, recognizing the profound impact psychological distress and barriers can cause. Together we will work towards your goals and focus on you. I draw on evidence-based techniques and client strengths. These include cognitive behavior therapy, acceptance and commitment strategies, and client-centered direction.
