Kristen Alaniz, LCSW

Kristen Alaniz, LCSW

Psychotherapist
14301 N 87th Street, Suite 304, Scottsdale, AZ
I am an LCSW and teacher focusing on helping adults learn to be more fluid and create lasting change for anxiety, ADHD, and life traumas. I also support people through life transitions, grief, and trauma through holding a safe nonjudgemental space. These are overwhelming times. We all need a safe space to voice our fears. We all want to see a clear path forward toward a peaceful and joyful present and future. Becoming comfortable with yourself is one of the best ways toward creating lasting change. Together, we'll explore the underlying patterns and beliefs that may be blocking your way to finding peace with the past, creating new patterns, and building the wellbeing. Therapy can feel like rock climbing for the first time. A bit unnerving. But a great first session is exhilarating- a safe place to be heard, to take a breath, begin again, and see yourself, the circumstances, or the challenge from a new point of view. Ready to forge a new path forward? Reach out today for a free phone consultation.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I am an action oriented therapist. My goal is to provide an environment where you can learn about yourself and immediately build skills to implement change while you explore how you have come to this point in your life. Whether you're dealing with the lingering effects of past experiences or facing new barriers, my hope is to help you build insights and tools to approach your experiences in new and healthier ways.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

During our first appointment we will have the opportunity to get to know each other. I will ask you to share about your reasons for seeking out therapy right now and your goals. We will create a treatment plan and follow that plan through meeting either face-to-face or via telehealth. Often we start off meeting weekly or biweekly but we continually assess progress toward our goals with the expectation that we will slowly transition to a time where we say goodbye for now. Leaving the door open for future support and engagement if or when new challenges arise.
