Hi, welcome to my page, I'm glad you're here. My name is Kristen, and I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC). I hold a Master's in Forensic Mental Health Counseling and a Master's in Forensic Psychology, both from John Jay College of Criminal Justice. I have over 10 years of community mental health experience and have worked with a diverse range of clientele, including those with Serious and Persistent Mental Illnesses, anxiety, substance use, and trauma disorders. Additionally, I have 4 years of private practice experience working with individuals living with anxiety and depression.

What should a new client know about working with you?

Healing comes from within, but sometimes you may need help and support from the outside in a safe environment. I will provide this space through compassion, and embrace my clients for their strengths and struggles.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

I use a flexible approach to meet the needs of my clients. I also focus on the mind body connection and how our mental health & physical health are intertwined. I hold advanced certificates in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Bereavement & Grief related Issues as well as being a certified Clinical Trauma Professional. In addition, I have completed trainings in Trauma Sensitive Yoga with the Trauma & Embodiment Yoga Program as well as with the Prison Yoga Project and Liberation Yoga Project.
