Getting to know Kristen Sheller

My name is Kristen Sheller. I have 15 years of clinical experience in several areas including acute care hospital, psychiatric hospital and outpatient mental health center. I have bachelor’s degrees in social work and Sociology, and an MSW from the University of Illinois. I am currently an LCSW in Texas and Indiana. I would describe myself as a caring, honest and easy going person. My belief is that you are the expert on your life and your story. I like to get to know my clients, so that I can figure out what approach will work best for them. Life can be challenging at times, and sometimes we need help coping. I have experience working with individuals, families and couples. I have worked with clients with many different challenges including stress/anxiety, mental illness, depression, addiction, trauma etc. My approaches are solution focused, client centered and strength based. I use evidence-based practices and prefer Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. Open to working with adolescents 15 years and older.
