Getting to know Kristen Walker

Hello, I'm Kristen Walker, a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Clinician and a Master’s Level Alcohol and Drug Counselor, licensed in NH and MA. Throughout our lives, we all need someone to listen and help guide us. Life provides us with many significant successes and challenges, and it is easy to feel overwhelmed. We all need to know, and oftentimes, be reminded that we are all worthy of happiness, respect, compassion, and love. It is not always easy navigating relationships and understanding one's worth. I support individuals, couples, and families as they explore and navigate through challenges of mental health and substance use. Our personal journeys are our own, and I tailor treatment to each individual I meet with. I work from a stage of change model for both mental health and substance use. We can sometimes let our emotions overpower our intellect. Living with mental health and/or substance use challenges takes resilience and courage. For the past twenty-five years, I have worked in a variety of settings that include residential care, community mental health, Assertive Community Treatment, and private practice. For the past fifteen years, I have worked within an Integrated Model of Care that has been proven to work and utilizes several Evidence-Based Practices. I have expertise in working with individuals with co-occurring disorders, substance use, addictions, depression, anxiety, relationship issues, mood disorders, thought disorders, and disorders on the Schizophrenia spectrum. A few years ago, I was trained through the NH NAMI Connect Program as a Suicide Prevention Trainer. I also provide court-ordered LADC evaluations upon request.
